ORCA data platform
I developed the back-end data platform for ORCA, bringing together cetacean sightings and survey effort data to support marine mammal monitoring worldwide. The platform has helped the organisation grow its network of surveyors, now collecting high-quality monitoring data across every ocean. It provides the data infrastructure needed to turn observations at sea into valuable evidence for marine conservation.
Indicia
Indicia is an open-source toolkit for building websites and applications that support wildlife recording and biodiversity data management. Through many years of development and consultancy, I have helped extend and apply Indicia to meet the needs of recording schemes, conservation organisations and biological recorders. Its flexible tools and Drupal integration make it possible to create tailored solutions for collecting, managing and sharing wildlife data.
tanhub
TanHub is a free, open-source platform that brings wildlife observations together from multiple sources, making biodiversity data easier to manage, explore and share. Developed with North West Invertebrates and Rich Burkmar, it supports species accounts, reports, atlases and data visualisations through a lightweight database and read-only REST API. Its companion project, TanVis, helps transform biodiversity data into engaging visualisations.
