Working with ORCA, I developed the back-end data platform that brings together cetacean sightings and survey effort data, supporting the organisation’s marine mammal monitoring programme. The platform has helped ORCA expand its network of marine mammal surveyors, who now collect high-quality monitoring data across every ocean. By providing a robust foundation for managing both wildlife observations and the effort behind each survey, the system helps turn individual sightings into valuable evidence for understanding and protecting marine mammals.
